Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how RunBridge handles information for the RunBridge hardware device, the RunBridge Companion apps (iOS and Android), and the website at runbridge.dev.

What we don’t do
- We do not require accounts or logins.
- We do not sell your personal information.
- The Companion app does not include advertising or tracking SDKs.
- The hardware device and Companion app do not automatically upload your data to our servers.
1. RunBridge hardware device
RunBridge is a Bluetooth protocol bridge. It relays treadmill speed and distance from an FTMS-enabled treadmill to a compatible watch as a standard BLE running sensor.
The device does not:
- Store your activities or workout history
- Connect to the internet
- Upload data anywhere by itself
Your activities are recorded and managed by your watch and its companion services (for example, Garmin) according to their settings and privacy policies.
2. RunBridge Companion app
RunBridge Companion (iOS today; Android in the future) helps check whether a treadmill provides the Bluetooth Fitness Machine data required by RunBridge, and can create a diagnostic capture you may choose to share with support.
Bluetooth
The app uses Bluetooth to scan for nearby fitness equipment, connect to a treadmill you select, and read Fitness Machine Service (FTMS) and related device information locally on your phone. During a test it may read the treadmill serial number locally. Serial numbers are omitted from shared reports unless you enable that option.
What stays on your phone
Diagnostic captures and saved result summaries stay in the app’s private storage until you delete them or choose to share them. Nothing is uploaded automatically.
- You can delete saved results (and related capture files) from within the app.
- Unsent diagnostic captures are removed automatically after 30 days.
Sharing with support
When you send a diagnostic report, you choose the destination with the system share sheet (for example Mail or Files). If you email a report to support@runbridge.dev, support may receive:
- GATT / FTMS capture data for the treadmill you selected
- Manufacturer and model details you entered
- Basic app and phone environment details (app version, OS version, device model)
- Optionally, the treadmill serial number if you include it
Nearby Bluetooth devices you did not select are not included as individual records in shared reports.
What the Companion app does not collect
- No accounts or authentication
- No HealthKit / Google Fit health databases
- No location services for tracking
- No advertising identifiers or third-party analytics / crash-reporting SDKs
The same privacy principles apply to future Android releases: local diagnostics, user-initiated sharing only, and no automatic cloud upload.
3. Website and browser tools
Pages on runbridge.dev may use Google Analytics to understand aggregate site traffic (for example page views). Analytics is used for the marketing and documentation website, not for Companion app telemetry.
Browser-based support tools on the site (Updater, Log Extractor, and Log Analyzer) process device files locally in your browser. They are intended for troubleshooting; we do not operate a server-side workout database for these tools.
If you email support, we receive whatever you choose to send (messages, photos, logs, or diagnostic ZIP files) and use it only to help resolve your issue.
4. How we use information you send us
Information you voluntarily share (support emails, diagnostic reports, compatibility details) is used to:
- Troubleshoot and improve compatibility
- Respond to support requests
- Improve RunBridge products and documentation
We do not sell this information. We do not use Companion diagnostic data for advertising.
5. Retention and deletion
- On your phone: delete saved results in the Companion app; unsent captures expire after 30 days.
- Email / support: contact support@runbridge.dev to request deletion of materials you previously sent us. We will remove them from active support records on a reasonable best-effort basis, except where we must retain limited records for legal, accounting, or fraud-prevention reasons.
6. Children
RunBridge products are intended for adults using fitness equipment. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
