What the app checks

RunBridge Companion can find nearby Bluetooth FTMS treadmills, inspect the services they expose and show live treadmill data needed for a compatibility check. It helps determine whether RunBridge is likely to work before you purchase hardware.

Testing happens locally over Bluetooth and follows RunBridge's privacy-first approach. The app is a testing and support tool; it does not turn your phone into the RunBridge hardware sensor used by Garmin.

How to test

  1. Install RunBridge Companion on your phone.
  2. Turn on the treadmill and enable its Bluetooth workout connection.
  3. Open the compatibility test and select the treadmill.
  4. Start the belt at a safe walking speed so the app can inspect live data.
  5. Review the result and any diagnostic details.

After the test

If the result is compatible, get RunBridge from the official Etsy shop and follow the quick start guide. If the test is unclear, use the app's diagnostic information with RunBridge support rather than assuming that generic Bluetooth support means FTMS compatibility.
